Sounds and motion around the site

Choose quiet click sounds and gentle banner motion as you explore. Each page has a short entrance, and the homepage gem game is gone.

Sound and motion now work across our public website pages. Use the small Sound & motion button to choose what you like. Sounds are off at first. When you turn them on, site buttons and links make a quiet click.

Game banners have gentle motion and a soft glow. Each page has a short entrance when you visit. You can turn motion off, and the site respects your device’s reduced motion setting.

The homepage keeps its smaller banner. We removed the gem game. Game controls and video playback keep their own sound and behavior.

What changed

How visitors are counted

Each anonymous browser session is counted once per Eastern Time calendar day. Refreshing or moving between pages does not add another count that day. Different browsers or new sessions may count separately. A period total adds its daily counts, so a returning browser counts again on a later day.

The cumulative visitor-days counter keeps adding even after older daily chart rows leave the 365-day view. If older history predates this counter and cannot be recovered, its displayed total is labeled as partial. It is not a count of unique people. Only totals are public. This counter does not store IP addresses, user agents, accounts, or visitor identities. Today and the first tracking day are partial days.
